Guide to Notifications
Introduction
This information guide will assist the user with creating, managing/editing and using Notifications on Safety 360 Elite
To create and manage a Target Group on the system the following must be in place:
- Employees created on system
- Employees have Control user access to system OR Employee must have Notifications Controller HSE Role
PLEASE NOTE ONLY CONTROL USERS OR USERS WITH CORRECT HSE ROLES CAN ACCESS TARGETS
This guide will go through the following options:
Notifications
On the left navigation pane you will find the Notifications portal as shown below.
Here you will find the following options.





Notification Center
On the left navigation pane of Safety 360 Elite you will find the Notifications portal as shown below. Then select Notification Center.
All Notification Center cards follow the same principal and process but vary slightly in subject. The process is as follow:
You can build as many Groups under each Type as required, there is no limit.
Users can also be subscribers on multiple groups under different types.
The rules will be different for each type of Notification.
Select the feature for the main notification you want to receive, all stored notification can be found under each line item.

Once you select the feature it opens the setup page.
All existing notifications cards are show at the bottom.
Select the + to create a new card with the name of your reminder.
Notification Center – Creating a Notification Group Card
The process to build a New Notification Group is the same for all Types.
In the description field add the name for what the notification is for (custom name) we will use “Expiring Medical Certificates”.
Next, add a start date and schedule the frequency.
Daily means everyday @ 06:00, Weekly means Monday @ 06:00 and Monthly means the first Monday of every month @ 06:00.
After completing the information for the card it will take you back to the Expiring Files Notification Page.

Select the card to setup rules for the notification.
Notification Center – Set-up
This is the first page, “Events” which will trigger each time when it is set.
To set the notification up you will go to Rules, Subscribers and Settings.

Setting up the Rules, Subscribers and editing the Settings. We are using the expiring files as an example. Under the Rules tab of Expiring Files you will find the following:
Expiring Files rules explained. Expiring files run on a schedule so using the slider in point 1 will determine how many days before items expire the system will notify you.
Please remember to click Save Configuration to capture all input.
Notification Center – Adding Subscribers
Adding subscribers is also the same for all types. Subscribers are users that will be notified on the rules. These users will receive an email based on schedule or when items are completed for those types that do not run on a schedule.
To add Subscribers, open the Group and navigate to the Subscribers tab as shown below.
Select the + to add employees to notification, from a drop down list.
To add employees: Tick or un-tick the box, to add the name/s to the notification list, or to remove them.
NB! Changes to subscribers list can be made at any time. New employees can be added and subscribed employees can be removed.
Notification Center – Settings
The settings tab allows you to modify the information you entered when creating the notification.
Keep in mind that:
Daily means everyday @ 06:00
Weekly means Monday @ 06:00
Monthly means the first Monday of every month @ 06:00
After editing the information for the card select Update to keep the changes.
Notification Center Types
The process to build a Notification Group is the same for all Types. Some run on a schedule while others notify as items get completed. For the latter you will only select a Start Date and not a Schedule (Daily/Weekly/Monthly).
The process of adding/removing subscribers is also the same for all types.
The only thing that changes between Types is the Notification Rules.
We will explore these per each Type below.
My Notifications
On the left navigation pane of Safety 360 Elite you will find the Notifications portal as shown below. From there click the My Notifications card as shown below.
This will open a register of all the Notifications your user has received. This register will show both read and unread notifications as well as how long ago they were received.
It’s important to remember the system send automated notifications from various features. This register includes the notifications sent by Safety 360 Elite as well as from other users.
Read notifications will have the two ticks’ icon, while unread notifications will have bell icon. You can use the search box to find notifications and you can click Mark all read to update all statuses to read.

Sent Notifications
On the left navigation pane of Safety 360 Elite you will find the Notifications portal as shown below.
The Sent Notifications log will show all the Notifications you sent.

Push Notification Registry
On the left navigation pane of Safety 360 Elite you will find the Notifications portal as shown below.
Push notifications are short messages or alerts sent to a user’s device—usually a smartphone, tablet, or computer—via apps or web browsers. These notifications “push” information directly to the user, even when the app or website isn’t actively open.
Safety 360 Elite users can register for Push Notification on their mobile devices through the Safety 360 Elite mobile app. This can be done on Android, iOS or Huawei devices.
This register will show all the employees from your company that have registered for Push Notifications. You can use the Search bar to easily locate employees.
